Running trainings
How to schedule a training, track who attended, and mark contacts trained so completion becomes a queryable CRM record.
On this page
A training in OrganizeOS is a meeting whose attendance and completion get tracked against your CRM contacts. Scheduling a training gives it a topic and a roster; marking contacts trained writes a permanent record to their activity history, so "who is trained on de-escalation" becomes a question you can actually answer.
Scheduling a training
Open Meetings in the workspace sidebar and select Schedule. Under Kind, choose Training. A Training topic field appears: pick an existing topic from the list, or select New topic to create one on the spot by typing its name.
Fill out the rest of the form the same way you would for any meeting — title, date and time, visibility, and whether to invite specific staff members. See Scheduling and running meetings for the full set of scheduling and video-call options.
The roster
Every training has an attendance roster, shown on the training's meeting detail page under Training roster. Each contact on the roster carries one status:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Invited | On the roster, hasn't been marked yet. |
| Attended | Was present at the training. |
| No-show | Was expected but didn't attend. |
| Completed | Confirmed trained — this is the state that writes a CRM record. |
For any contact who isn't already completed, use the Attended or No-show button on their row to record what happened. If the training had a video call, a contact's time in the call is shown next to their name as a reference, but the organizer's Attended / No-show marking is what counts — there's no automatic cutoff based on minutes present.
Marking contacts trained
When you're ready to confirm completion, select Mark trained above the roster. The dialog pre-selects every contact currently marked Attended; adjust the selection if needed, then confirm. Each contact you mark trained:
- Moves to Completed status on the roster.
- Gets a training activity added to their CRM timeline, tagged with the training's topic.
A contact who is already completed can't be un-marked from this dialog and is skipped if you try to mark them again, so re-confirming a roster is always safe.
Reviewing training topics
Open Meetings in the workspace sidebar and select Trainings to see every topic your organization has trained on, alongside how many contacts have completed each one. This is the fastest way to check your organization's overall training coverage without opening individual sessions. If a topic shows no trainings yet, that's expected — topics are created the first time someone schedules a training against them.
Why this matters
A training that only lives in someone's memory or a spreadsheet can't answer "who's qualified to lead a canvass shift" or "who still needs de-escalation training before the event." Because completion writes directly to each contact's CRM record, that question becomes a live query instead of a scavenger hunt — and the next organizer to inherit the relationship inherits the training history along with it.
