Connecting integrations
Import contacts, events, and signups from Mailchimp, Mobilize, Action Network, EveryAction, Zapier, or any calendar feed.
On this page
Integrations pull data from the tools your organization already uses into OrganizeOS: people into your contacts, and events and signups into your events. Everything flows one way, into OrganizeOS. Nothing is written back to the other service.
Open Settings in your workspace sidebar, then Integrations. Only owners and admins can connect or disconnect an integration.
What each integration imports
| Integration | Imports | How you connect |
|---|---|---|
| Mailchimp | An audience's members as contacts, with their tags and subscription status | Sign in to Mailchimp and approve access, then choose the audience |
| Mobilize | Your organization's events, plus signups as contacts and RSVPs | Paste your Mobilize API key and your Organization ID |
| Action Network | Supporters as contacts; events with attendances; petition signers and form submitters as contacts tagged by the action | Paste your group's API key |
| EveryAction | People as contacts, tagged with their activist codes; events with signups | Paste your EveryAction API key |
| Zapier | Contacts that any Zap posts to your webhook URL | Generate a webhook URL and paste it into a Zap |
| Calendar | Events from any calendar that publishes an iCal (.ics) feed, such as Google Calendar | Paste the feed URL |
Importing events requires a plan with unlimited events. On other plans the integration still imports contacts and records that events were skipped.
Connecting with a key or a URL
Select the integration's connect button, paste what it asks for, and select Connect. For Mobilize, EveryAction and Calendar, OrganizeOS checks the key or URL with the provider before saving it, and one the provider rejects is not stored. An Action Network key is checked by the first import instead: if it is wrong, the import fails and the card shows Reconnect needed. The first import starts as soon as the connection is saved.
- Mobilize also needs your Organization ID, shown at the top of Team Settings in Mobilize. The connection is checked against that organization, so a key from a different organization is refused.
- Action Network API keys are a partner feature; find yours under Start Organizing, then Details, then API & Sync.
- EveryAction keys are issued by your EveryAction administrator. Paste the key exactly as issued, including the mode suffix.
- Calendar feeds: in Google Calendar, open the calendar's settings, then Integrate calendar, and copy the secret address in iCal format. Any public .ics URL works too.
Connecting Mailchimp
Select Connect on the Mailchimp card. You are sent to Mailchimp to sign in and approve access, then returned to this page. Select Choose audience and pick the audience to import; the first import starts as soon as you choose.
Connecting Zapier
Select Generate webhook URL on the Zapier card and copy the URL into a "Webhooks by Zapier" POST step. Send JSON with these fields:
{
"email": "person@example.com",
"full_name": "Person Name",
"phone": "+15551234567",
"tags": ["lead"],
"source": "Typeform"
}
Only email is required. tags can be a list or a comma-separated string, and
source, when present, is added as a tag. The card shows when the last post
arrived and how many have been received. Regenerate replaces the URL and
stops the old one working; update your Zap afterwards.
Keeping data in sync
Once connected, each card shows when it last synced and whether the run succeeded.
- Sync now runs an import immediately. It picks up records changed since the last successful sync.
- Daily sync runs the same import every day. It is off until you turn it on. If an import fails, the card shows Reconnect needed and daily sync pauses; once Sync now succeeds, it resumes.
- Disconnect deletes the stored key or token. Contacts, events, and RSVPs already imported stay in OrganizeOS.
What lands where
- People become contacts with the integration recorded as their source. A person who already exists (matched by email address) is updated rather than duplicated.
- Events are imported as drafts so you can review them before they appear on your public pages. Mobilize events that were public in Mobilize are published on import. Once an event exists, publishing it or taking it down is up to you: later syncs keep your choice.
- The source stays in charge of an imported event's details. Each sync refreshes its title, description, time and location from the source, so change those in the other tool rather than in OrganizeOS.
- Signups become RSVPs on the imported event.
EveryAction imports changes from the last 90 days. Older records can be brought in with a contacts import from a CSV export.
