Event registration questions
How to collect extra information from attendees by adding custom questions to an event's RSVP form.
On this page
When someone RSVPs to one of your events, you can collect more than just their name and contact details. Registration questions are custom fields that appear on the public RSVP form for a specific event, sitting alongside the standard name and contact fields. You write the question label, choose how the attendee should answer it, and decide whether an answer is required before the RSVP can be submitted. Questions you add apply only to that event and do not carry over to other events.
Question types
You can choose from seven answer formats when you create a question:
| Type | What the attendee sees |
|---|---|
| Short text | A single-line text field |
| Long text | A multi-line text area |
| Number | A numeric input |
| Date | A date picker |
| Dropdown | A single-choice select list |
| Multi-select | A list where more than one option can be chosen |
| Checkbox | A single yes/no toggle |
For dropdown and multi-select questions, you supply the list of choices when setting up the question.
Required vs optional
Each question has a required toggle. When a question is marked required, the RSVP form will not submit unless the attendee provides an answer. Optional questions are shown on the form but can be left blank.
Ordering questions
Questions appear on the RSVP form in the order you arrange them in the questions editor. Drag them into the sequence that makes the most sense for attendees. The order is saved when you save the question set.
Managing questions in the workspace
Open the event from the Events section of the workspace sidebar. Inside the event, select the Questions tab. From there you can add, edit, reorder, and delete questions. Save your changes before leaving the page. Changes take effect immediately on the public RSVP form, even for an event that is already published, so review and finalize your questions before registrations open, especially when the answers are required for logistics or planning.
Every RSVP saves its answers alongside the RSVP record. Open the attendee list for the event and select any attendee to see their answers next to their registration details. You can use those answers to filter or sort the list and to inform any targeted follow-up outreach you send before or after the event.
Why this matters
The information you collect at registration shapes how well you can prepare for and follow up on an event. When you know attendees' dietary needs, skill levels, session preferences, or other logistics ahead of time, you can plan resources accurately and avoid last-minute gaps. Answers are stored with each RSVP record, so you can sort and filter your attendee list to target outreach, assign roles, or confirm details with specific groups. Investing a few minutes in your question setup before registration opens saves you far more time in the lead-up to the event.
