Logging one-on-one conversations

How to log one-on-one conversations with contacts, capture the ask and an assessment, and track follow-ups.

On this page

A one-on-one in OrganizeOS is a logged organizing conversation with a contact in your CRM, not a scheduled video call or meeting. Open One-on-ones in the workspace sidebar to see your follow-up worklist and an assessment-colored contact chart showing where your relationships stand.

Logging a conversation

To record a conversation, open the slide-over log form from the One-on-ones page. The form captures:

  • Contact: the person you spoke with.
  • Ask: the action you made during the conversation, for example a fundraising ask, a political ask, or a leadership ask.
  • Commitment level: how firmly the contact agreed or engaged.
  • Assessment: where the contact stands on your organization's assessment scale, from identified leader to opposed. The levels shown come from your organization's own scale, so the labels match how your team already talks about its base.
  • Issue tags: the issues raised during the conversation.

When you submit the form, the conversation is saved to the contact's activity history in the CRM.

Assessment over time

Each logged conversation can update the contact's organizing assessment, their current level on your organization's assessment scale. Because every change is kept as history, you can see how a relationship has developed over time. The assessment-colored chart on the One-on-ones page gives you a quick read on where your contacts sit across the full range.

You can also set or change an assessment directly from a contact's profile in the CRM: the Assessments panel in the profile sidebar shows the contact's current level on every scale your organization tracks, with a full history of who changed what, when, and from where.

Follow-ups

After logging a conversation you can create a follow-up task tied to the contact. The One-on-ones page surfaces two groups to help you stay on track:

  • Follow-ups due: contacts with a follow-up task whose due date has arrived.
  • Gone cold: contacts that have had no pending follow-up for 21 days. This group flags relationships that may need re-engagement before they drift further.

Work through both groups from the worklist to keep your relational organizing pipeline active.

Contact history

To see every one-on-one you have logged with a person, open their record in the CRM. Their full conversation history, including each ask, commitment, assessment, and any issue tags, appears in their activity timeline. The One-on-ones slide-over does not yet show this timeline inline, so the CRM contact profile is the place to review a contact's full history before a follow-up conversation.

Why this matters

Relational organizing is only as strong as your memory of it. Logging one-on-ones turns fleeting conversations into a structured record: what was asked, how the contact responded, and where the relationship stands. Over time that record helps you spot who is ready for a bigger commitment, who has gone quiet, and where to focus your next round of outreach. Teams that log consistently build a shared picture of their contacts that no single organizer could hold alone.
