How to set an event to repeat on a schedule so OrganizeOS generates a series of individual occurrences automatically.

On this page

For the basics of creating, publishing, and checking people in, see Creating an event. This article covers how to make an event repeat on a schedule and what that generates for your workspace.

Turning on recurrence

On the Date and Time step of the event form, turn on Recurring Event. A recurrence panel appears where you set the frequency (daily, weekly, or monthly) and either a number of occurrences or an end date. That marks the event as a repeating series rather than a single date.

How the series is generated

Once recurrence is enabled, OrganizeOS generates a set of individual occurrences from your schedule. Each occurrence is its own event with its own date and time, RSVP list, and capacity. They share a common parent but are otherwise independent: publishing one does not publish the others, and RSVPs for one do not count toward another.

Managing occurrences

Open the event in your workspace and select Series from the event's navigation to see every generated occurrence sorted by start date. From there you can open any individual occurrence to edit its details, publish it, or review attendance. For a full walkthrough of the series page, see Managing a recurring event series.

Why this matters

Repeating programs such as weekly canvasses, monthly town halls, or regular phone banks benefit from a predictable structure. Setting up recurrence once lets you focus on filling each occurrence rather than recreating the same event from scratch every time. Each occurrence still stands on its own, so you retain the flexibility to adjust details, cancel a single date, or publish sessions on your own schedule.
