Your profile and account settings
Edit your personal info, claim a handle, manage account emails, track invitations, and choose your notifications, preferences and security settings.
On this page
Your profile is the one identity that follows you across every organization you belong to, and the home of your account settings. To open it, open your account menu (your name and photo in the bottom-left of the sidebar) and select your name and photo at the top of the menu.
Overview
The Overview tab shows your name, email, and when your account was created. Two things live here that are worth knowing about:
- Your connect link. A QR code and a short link (
/connect/<you>, or/@yourhandleonce you've claimed one) that anyone can use to connect with you. Share it in person or in a message. - Your handle. An optional
@handle, 3-30 characters, lowercase letters, digits, and underscores only. Claiming or changing it checks availability as you type. Once set, you can change it again after 30 days.
Underneath, Email addresses lets you add backup emails to your account. Each new address gets a verification email before it counts. You can have more than one verified email and choose which is your primary sign-in address — switching primaries asks for your password to confirm.
Personal info
The Personal info tab is where you edit your full name, display name, bio, phone number, and mailing address. None of this is required, but a phone number is what lets an organization text you event reminders. Staff of an organization you belong to see your phone number where their role lets them manage members, attendees or contacts. Your display name is what other members see on your community posts and replies. If you hold a leadership or staff role in an organization, its Leadership page also shows your full name, bio and city. To check what one organization's members see, open Settings in its member space.
Organizations
The Organizations tab lists every organization you're an active member of, along with your role in each. From here you can also create a new organization or find more organizations to join.
Invitations
The Invitations tab lists any pending invitations to join an organization, sent to your account's email address. Accepting or declining happens from this tab; the tab shows a badge with your invitation count so you don't miss one.
Notifications
The Notifications tab chooses which emails and texts OrganizeOS sends you about events and meetings: reminders, feedback surveys, the weekly digest and organizer updates. Each toggle saves as soon as you flip it. See notification preferences for what each one covers.
Preferences
The Preferences tab sets how OrganizeOS looks (Light, Dark, or System to match your device) and whether you appear on your organizations' volunteer leaderboards (Show me on leaderboards). With it off, you also appear as Someone, instead of by your first name, to a member whose share link brought you in to an organization; see sharing and your impact.
Security
The Security tab holds two-factor authentication and your recovery codes, the devices signed in to your account, your recent sign-ins, and the option to delete your account. See account security.
Why this matters
Everything here is shared across every organization you're part of — one name, one handle, one set of contact details. Keeping it accurate means organizers can reach you, other members can recognize you, and you never have to fill out the same information twice.
