Event RSVPs

Events are how organizations bring people together: rallies, meetings, phone banks, fundraisers, and more. You can browse and RSVP without any special setup.

Browsing events

Open Events in the left sidebar. You will see upcoming events from the organizations you belong to, plus nearby public events. Each event card shows the date, time, location, and host organization. Select a card to see the full details.

How to RSVP

On an event page, choose your response:

• Going: you plan to attend
• Maybe: you are interested but not sure
• Not going: you cannot make it

Your response is saved immediately and the organizer can see it.

Changing your response

Open the event page (or find it under Events > My Events):

• Going and Maybe switch with one tap on the confirmation panel. Moving from Maybe back to Going re-checks capacity, so if the event filled up in the meantime you will see that it's full.
• Cancel RSVP removes your registration entirely; you can always RSVP again later.
• For events with shifts, the confirmation lists Your shifts with a cancel next to each one, so you can drop a single time without losing the rest. Cancelling your last shift cancels the whole registration. (The Going/Maybe switch still applies only to registrations without shifts.)

Switching to another time

For recurring events, the confirmation panel has Switch to another time: pick a different upcoming occurrence and your whole registration, guests included, moves over. You'll get a fresh confirmation email, and your old spot opens up for the waitlist. Times that can't fit your group are marked full. If the other time asks its own registration questions, register for it directly instead so you can answer them.

Bringing guests

You can add guests when you RSVP, and change them any time before the event: the confirmation panel has a Manage guests section where you can add or remove people. Guests count toward event capacity, so adding more may not be possible on a full event, and removing a guest opens their spot for the waitlist. Removing guests never affects your own registration.

What happens after you RSVP

The confirmation on the event page shows exactly what to expect. You will get a confirmation email right away, a reminder the day before with a one-tap confirm, day-of details (for virtual events, that message includes your join link), a starting-soon note, and a quick feedback ask after the event. Messages arrive by email, plus text if you have opted in.

Waitlists

If an event has limited capacity and it's already full, choosing Going places you on the waitlist. The event page and My Events show your exact place in line (for example, "#3 in line"). If a spot opens up, the next person in line is moved to Going automatically and notified. Changed your mind? Use Leave waitlist to give up your spot.

Adding it to your calendar

After you RSVP as Going, use the calendar link on the event page to add it to your personal calendar so you get a reminder.

Checking in at the event

When you arrive, some organizations check you in at the door. You do not need to do anything special. An organizer marks you as attended, or you may be asked to scan a code. Attending events is also how you earn participation badges over time.

Why your RSVP matters

RSVPs help organizers plan: how much space, food, or materials they need. Even a Maybe is useful. If your plans change, updating your RSVP to Not going helps just as much as saying yes.
