Organization profiles and following

Getting startedUpdated September 28, 2026

What an organization's profile shows in the OrganizeOS app, how to follow an organization, and how members and staff get to their spaces from it.

On this page

Every organization has a profile in the OrganizeOS app. Tap an organization anywhere, on Explore, in your organizations list, or on Home, and its profile opens.

What the profile shows

  • Who they are: name, type, where they are based and the area they serve, and the network they belong to when they are a chapter.
  • About: a description, their website, an email and phone number when they share them, and their social accounts.
  • Announcements: the organization's latest posts. Tap one to read it whole, or the card's title to see all of them. Members also see announcements marked members only.
  • Upcoming events you can open and RSVP to.
  • Get involved: ways to help right now. See below.
  • Membership: the tiers on offer and what each costs, before you join.
  • People: the organization's leadership and how many members it has.
  • Details: when it was founded, its type, and when it was verified.

Some organizations share only part of this, so sections you do not see are ones the organization has not filled in.

Getting involved

The Get involved section lists what the organization is running right now, so it only appears when there is something to do:

  • Donate opens the organization's giving page.
  • Fundraisers and campaigns show how much has been raised and how many people have given, and open the fundraiser's page.
  • Petitions show the signature goal and when signing ends, and open the petition so you can sign it.
  • Volunteer opens the organization's volunteer signup. If you are already a member, it takes you to your volunteer tools in the member space instead.
  • Shop opens the organization's store.

Giving, signing and buying happen on the organization's web pages, which open inside the app.

Following an organization

Tap Follow on a profile or on an organization card in Explore to keep an eye on an organization without joining it. Explore then shows what the organizations you follow are doing in a card called "From organizations you follow": their next events and active campaigns. Tap Following to stop.

Nobody else can see who you follow, and organizations do not see a public follower count.

Joining

What the button under the organization's name says depends on how it takes members:

  • Join adds you right away. The app opens the organization's member space once you are in.
  • Request to join sends the organization a request. The button reads Requested until someone there reviews it, and you get in once they approve.
  • Join on the web appears when membership has a price. It opens the organization's join page, where you choose a tier and pay.
  • Invite only means the organization adds members itself; ask someone there for an invitation.

Once you have joined, the organization moves to your organizations list and its profile shows your membership. See Joining an organization.

If you are already a member

Your profile line shows your membership, for example "Member" or "Staff". Members get an Open member space button. Staff get Open workspace and Open member space. Tapping an organization in Home or in your organizations list opens its profile, and you choose your space from there.
