Switching between organizations

How to move between the organizations you belong to using one OrganizeOS account.

On this page

One OrganizeOS account can belong to any number of organizations — your union, a campaign, a local group. You don't need a separate login for each.

Using the workspace switcher

Open the menu at the bottom-left of the sidebar (your name and avatar). If you belong to more than one organization, a Workspaces section lists them. Click one to switch straight into it. If you belong to more than a handful, the list shows your most recently visited ones plus a View all option for the full list.

Use the + next to Workspaces to create a new organization or find one to join.

Roles can differ per organization

Your role isn't the same everywhere. You might be a plain member of one organization and staff or an admin of another — the platform shows you the right experience for whichever one you're currently in.

Leaving a workspace

While you're inside an organization's workspace, an Exit Workspace link in that same menu takes you back to your personal dashboard — the home base that pulls together activity from every organization you belong to, rather than any single one.

If an organization has its own web address

Some organizations run their workspace at their own subdomain or a fully custom domain instead of the shared app address. If you reach one of those directly, you may need to sign in there separately the first time, since sign-in on a custom address is scoped to that organization only.

Why this matters

Multi-org membership is one of the more distinctive things about OrganizeOS: your volunteer history, your messages, and your account security settings are the same wherever you go, while each organization still gets its own space for its own work. Knowing how to move between them means you never need more than one account, no matter how many organizations you're part of.
