Volunteering and tracking your hours

How to find volunteer opportunities, sign up for shifts, and log your hours.

Volunteering is one of the most direct ways to support an organization. OrganizeOS keeps opportunities, your shifts, and your hours in one place.

Finding opportunities

Open Volunteering in the left sidebar to see opportunities from your organizations — things like canvassing, phone banking, event support, or data entry. Each opportunity describes the task, time commitment, and whether it happens in person or remotely.

Signing up for a shift

Choose an opportunity and select a shift that works for you. Your signup is sent to the organizer, who may confirm it or follow up with details. You can see all of your upcoming and past shifts under Volunteering.

Logging your hours

For some activities your hours are recorded automatically when you complete a shift or get checked in. For others you may log hours yourself. Your total hours roll up into your impact summary.

Your impact and badges

The My Impact page shows your volunteering totals across organizations — hours contributed, actions completed, and badges you have earned (for example, first action, door knocker, or caller). Badges are a way to recognize your contributions over time.

Controlling your visibility

If your organization has leaderboards, you choose whether to appear on them. Open Settings, then preferences, and toggle leaderboard visibility. Your hours are always yours — this only controls whether others see you ranked.
