Installing the OrganizeOS apps
Where to find the OrganizeOS apps, how to install the Windows desktop app, and which apps are on the way.
OrganizeOS works in any up-to-date web browser, so you never need an app to use it. The apps are for people who want OrganizeOS in a window of its own or on their phone. Every app is in public beta: it works, and it is still changing.
Finding the apps
Open your account menu (your name and photo in the bottom-left of the sidebar) and choose Get the apps. The Get Apps page lists the apps for computers and phones, what each one needs, and whether it is ready to download. If there is an app for the device you are using, it is at the top of the page under This device.
The Windows app
The Windows app needs Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit.
- On Get Apps, choose Download for Windows.
- Open the file you downloaded.
- Windows may say it protected your PC, because the beta is not yet signed with a publisher certificate. Choose More info, then Run anyway.
- Follow the installer's steps.
- Sign in with your password, or use the Magic Link tab. The link in that email opens in your web browser rather than the app, so type the 6-digit code from the same email into the app instead.
The app uses the same account as the web, and everything in it works the same way. On top of that, it:
- Opens OrganizeOS in its own window, with its own taskbar icon.
- Shows your OrganizeOS notifications as Windows notifications while the window is closed or in the background, and puts a dot on the taskbar icon while you have unread notifications.
- Keeps running in the system tray when you close the window. Click the tray icon to open OrganizeOS again, or right-click it to turn Show notifications off, Sign out, or Quit.
- Updates itself. When a new version is ready, the app offers to restart into it, or installs it the next time you quit.
Mac, iPhone, and Android
The Mac app and the iPhone and Android betas show Coming soon on Get Apps until they are ready to download. In the meantime, OrganizeOS works in the web browser on each of them.
